Located between Büyük Vezir Hanı and Küçük Vezir Hanı, the exact construction date of Küpecioğlu Hanı remains unknown; however, it is estimated to have been built between the late 17th century and the early 18th century. Rectangular in shape, the han is a typical example of classical Ottoman hans with courtyards. However, unlike the symmetrical layout of han rooms, the northern and eastern sections of the han feature rooms of varying sizes and dimensions.
Adjacent to Büyük Vezir Hanı, Küpecioğlu Hanı was connected to it via a corridor passing through its central courtyard. The two-story han, consisting of 35 rooms, initially served caravans when it had direct access to the sea, like other hans in the region. However, as the shoreline receded over time, its function changed. Unlike Büyük Vezir Hanı and Küçük Vezir Hanı, Küpecioğlu Hanı underwent a different transformation process. Due to the fires that affected its neighborhood in the 19th century, the han could not fully transition into an early modern business center like the other two hans. Until its destruction in the Great Fire of İzmir in1922, Küpecioğlu Hanı had been repurposed multiple times for different uses.
