The mosque, commissioned by Aydınoğlu İsabey and built by Mimar Ali in 1375, is a significant structure. It was constructed with dimensions of 51×57 meters. Architectural elements, especially columns, were brought from Ephesus and the Temple of Artemis during the construction process. The dome’s pendentives are adorned with ceramic tiles, while the window sills are decorated with stalactites, geometric patterns, and colored stones. The mihrab (prayer niche) and minbar (pulpit) of the mosque are made of marble.
In addition to this mosque dating back to the Aydınoğulları period, there are still four mosques in use and many ruined or restored mosques and tombs in Selçuk. These structures are dated to the Aydınoğulları and Ottoman periods.
