Keçi Castle

Located on Mount Alaman, a steep and rugged hill dominating the Menderes Valley, which is the shortest route from İzmir to Sardis and lies north of Ephesus along the İzmir-Aydın Highway, stands a fortress at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level. Built in the early 3rd century BC and in use until the 13th century AD, the fortress is supported by high walls and towers and measures 56×23 meters. Within its courtyard, there are barracks buildings, as well as cisterns both inside and outside the fortress.
