Ulu Mosque

It is understood from the construction inscription on the crown gate on the north side of the mosque that it was built by Bayezid I in 1398-1399. It is the oldest building among Turkish Islamic works. It has a rectangular shaped sanctuary divided into nine parts, three domes in the middle, and are covered with vaults on the sides. It has a minaret compounded to the western wall. Smooth cut stone, pitch-faced stone and brick were used as building materials. There is a molding eaves system between the walls and the roof. Its roof, which slopes on both sides, is covered with tiles. Pointed round arched windows made of smooth cut stone were placed.

The water tank of the fountain, which is made of smooth cut stones in the garden of the mosque, was built in 1949. The writings on this warehouse were written by the poet Aski Efendi.
